Poet and Humanitarian Activist

He is a Rohingya poet and the author of Exodus, The White Elephant and Eradication. He is a co-founder and editor of Art Garden Rohingya. His op-eds have been published in prominent outlets such as the New York Times, The Washington Post, The Times, The Guardian, The Independent, CNN, Policy Options, and others.

In 2017, he fled to Bangladesh following the deadly crackdown carried out by the Myanmar military against the Rohingya people in Rakhine State. He lived as a refugee in Cox’s Bazar for four years. In 2021, he was resettled to Canada. Recently, he graduated with a Master of Arts in Global Governance from the University of Waterloo. Currently, he serves as the Executive Director of the Rohingya Language Preservation Project of the Community Rebuilding Centre that seeks to preserve Rohingya language and cultural identity which are at high risks of disappearance in the face of the ongoing genocide against the Rohingya in Myanmar and displacement in the Southeast Asian countries.

His most recent poetry collection is called "Exodus: Between Genocide and Me" and his most recent book is titled: Eradication: A Poet at the Heart of the Rohingya Genocide" with Emilie Lopes
