Keisha Corine O. Mallete is a 16-year-old queer student journalist and writer from the Philippines. Despite my age, I have built a strong foundation in extracurricular pursuits, particularly in writing and public speaking. Currently, I am enrolled in the Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) strand at St. Agnes Academy, Inc., where I serve as the Feature Editor for The Agnesian, our official school publication, as well as the Secretary of the Student Coordinating Council (SCC).
Fueled by my passion for activism, prose, and public speaking, I have competed in various prestigious competitions, including the Goi Peace Foundation’s International Essay Contest for Young People, University of the Philippines (UP) Ibalon’s Padunungan: Essay Writing Competition,Diliman Debate Open (DDO), Ateneo de Manila University’s Philippine Schools Debating Championships (PSDC), and the Division and Regional Schools Press Conferences in the Philippines. These experiences helped mold me into the passionate young woman that I am today.
Beyond these accomplishments, I am brimming with pride when it comes to my creative works. I share poetry and essays online, particularly on platforms like Write the World and Instagram, where my voice reflects my experiences as a young Filipina queer activist who is yet to discover what the world has to offer. With this, I look forward to connecting and sharing ideas—please feel free to reach out to me at [email protected].
