Hadeer Al-Barkouni is a Palestinian poet, writer, and political researcher, born in Cairo in 1994 to two poets, Fatina Shablak and Jihad Al-Barkouni, before returning with her family to Gaza City, where she grew up. She began writing poetry at the age of ten, at the height of the Second Palestinian Intifada. Forcibly displaced from Gaza by Israel's war of annihilation on the Strip, she now resides in Cairo. She has published numerous literary works and songs.
