Furkan Karabay is a Turkish journalist born in 1996. As of 2025, he is 29 years old and serving a prison sentence in solitary confinement and on trumped up charges at Istanbul's Silivri Prison. His next trial is on the 2nd of December, 2025. You can find out more and write a support letter to him here

Karabay, a graduate of Galatasaray University is known for his news reports focusing on the judiciary and public administration. He  began his journalism career at media outlets such as Gerçek Gündem and 10Haber, where he produced important news stories. He is the author of the book “Gurban: Kızıl Ordu'dan Silivri'ye”(Victim: From the Red Army to Silivri) which describes corruption within the state. The book details the establishment and rise of a major corporation, its partnerships, the activities of organized crime, and the extent to which conflicts of interest within the state can reach.
